In light of recent events, we at REVStaffing would like to bring to your attention various tools for Realtor safety. Some you may have heard of, some you may not. Either way, we’d like to encourage you to leave your comments below – especially if you know of a safety device, feature or app that would help protect Realtors.
Apps
The Guardly Safety App is a free download that offers premium features for a monthly subscription, such as:
- Automatic connection with emergency services
- The ability to alert everyone in your safety group
- Real-Time Location Tracking
- An Emergency Beacon with a maximum-volume whistle sound
Secure Show allows you to verify a prospect prior to the showing process. The prospect will be sent a verification link that will confirm their phone number and require a scan of their identification. The ID is then checked against other databases using a third-party service.
Wearable Technology
For You…
Cuff is ‘smart jewelry’ that has activity tracking and an alert button. When pushed, this button notifies friends/family of your location and activates an audio device.
First Sign includes a ‘pod’ that detects trauma in the area in which it is worn, or it can be manually activated with the push of a button. For example, a headband detects potential head injury. Pods come in the form of keychains, clips, wristbands, pendants and headbands. They also have a mobile app option that alerts friends/family if you don’t ‘check-in’ by a certain time.
Stiletto is also ‘smart jewelry’ with many hardware features, such as dual-mode Bluetooth+LE Radio, 2 and 3-click alert modes, a high-sensitivity microphone, a water-resistant membrane and more. It also offers a unique, patent-pending locator system that is more reliable than a standard GPS when indoors.
For Your Possessions…
TrackR is a device the size of quarter that you can attach to a variety of items, such as a purse or wallet. The ‘crowd GPS’ function alerts you with a location update should these items go missing.
Tile is very similar to TrackR – it’s powered by Bluetooth and has a 100-ft range. The app version also records the most recent GPS location.
Charm Alarm gives you a wearable charm and a smart card. The smartcard is for your possessions and the charm is for you. The smart card communicates with the charm and sets of an alarm of blinking lights, sound and vibration should the two move away from each other.
