Holiday Marketing With ECards

With the holiday season in full swing, it’s time to consult your real estate virtual assistant (REVA) about marketing opportunities to grow your real estate business in the New Year.  One great way to start this process is by sending virtual holiday cards, or ecards, to your friends and clients.  Ecards are an effective means to gently remind clients that:

  1. You haven’t forgotten about them,
  2. You’re still in the real estate business, and
  3. You would greatly appreciate any referrals they send your way.

There are a number of online software tools that will create ecards, but some of our favorites at REVStaffing are Nudge, Animoto, and iContact.  iContact is an email marketing service that provides customizable holiday templates that Realtors can send to their client database. 

If you’d like something a little more advanced, try Nudge – a versatile application that will create a customized and branded presentation using images from your desktop or instagram account.  You can then send this presentation to your email contacts, share it with your facebook friends, and/or post it for your twitter followers. 

But if you really want the WOW factor, create a custom branded video through Animoto.  Animoto has a large library of professional and royalty-free images you can set to music.  This video can also be shared to your social media sites, embedded onto your website, and emailed to your database.

Now that we know which software tools are great at creating ecards, let’s go over some holiday card etiquette:

  • Unless the card is being sent only to members of a specific religious affiliation, it’s a good idea to keep the greeting as a standard “Happy Holidays” to avoid isolating any of your valued clients.
  • Write a personal sentence or two sending your holiday wishes.  Even though the ecard will be shared with and sent to hundreds of people, you can still make it heartfelt and genuine.
  • Avoid directly asking for business referrals.  Instead, use a subtle footnote in the signature such as, “The best compliment I can receive are your referrals.”
