The Power of Positive

A person who practices and masters the art of maintaining a positive mental attitude is almost always successful.  You seldom hear an extremely successful person complaining about their spouse, the neighbor, the weather, their mother-in-law, a friend, or a co-worker.  Generally, the most successful people in an industry have worked very hard and have one thing in common.  It is their attitude.  They believe they can succeed.  They believe that “no” is just two letters and they learn to like it.  That is right.  Like it!  There are mathematical averages in every industry that tell us how many “no’s” someone in that industry has to hear before they hear a “yes”.  So for a positive thinker, every “no” becomes a countdown to “yes”.  Like The Little Engine That Could, “I think I can, I think I can”!

Positive thinkers are so busy working, they do not have time to worry about Suzie at the water cooler or about what their neighbor is doing.  They are focused, driven, and they seldom slow down long enough to even notice there is a water cooler.  Even Scriptures tell us the power of positive thinking in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”.

What we know is that our thoughts and feelings influence our words.  We know we should think before we speak, because our thoughts and words, whether positive or negative, develop in to our actions.  Our actions create habits, which ultimately determine our future success.
