HOOTSUITE NO LONGER SUPPORTS GOOGLE+
As of January 28, 2019, Hootsuite will stop support for Google+.
This is following Google’s announcement of October 2018 that it is shutting down Google+ for consumers. Google has recently announced plans to begin shutting down the network’s APIs as early as January 28, and will complete the shut down on March 7, 2019.
On January 28, authentication with Google+ will no longer be available. In Hootsuite, this means no longer being able to add or reconnect Google+ pages or profiles. Signing in to the dashboard and mobile app using the Google+ sign-in option will also intermittently fail starting January 28. Any messages scheduled to post to Google+ after January 28 could also fail to publish.
If you currently use the Google+ sign-in option to access your Hootsuite account
Make sure there is a valid email address and password in your Hootsuite account settings that you can use to continue accessing the account.
- In the dashboard, click your profile picture ( by default) in the top-right corner, and then select Account & Settings.
- Scroll down through the Profile Info fields to the Email Address of the account.
- Update the email address and password if necessary, and then click Save Account Info.
- If you have never set up a password for your Hootsuite account, sign out of the dashboard, click Log In to get back to the login page https://hootsuite.com/login and then click Forgot password? to set up your Hootsuite account password.
Google+ will be removed completely from Hootsuite dashboards on February 28, 2019.
