Anthony is ActiveRain’s \u201cGenius Blog Training\u201d guru<\/strong>; he brought to ActiveRain over six years of real estate sales and marketing experience, primarily in mortgage lending. His focus is on communication, and he proved to our audience today just what a terrific communicator he is!<\/span><\/p>\n Our webinar participants \u2013 including several of your REVStaffing virtual assistants \u2013 came away well-prepared and excited about becoming local experts. You may know that <\/span>ActiveRain<\/span><\/span><\/span> is the <\/span><\/span><\/span>top real e<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>state social network in the world<\/strong>. But did you know that they record <\/span><\/span><\/span>over two million<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong> monthly visitors, primarily to their members’ blog posts? That’s more than impressive \u2013 it’s stellar!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The key to truly appreciating this fact lies in understanding that ActiveRain blogs \u2013 when written correctly \u2013 very often wind up at the at the top (and almost always on the first page) of Google keyword searches. Those searches drive business. And as Anthony explained, once you land that coveted #1 spot on a Google search, YOU STAY THERE. First, the word \u201cblog\u201d is actually a shortened version of the original term \u201cweb log.\u201d Second, a blog is either a type of website, or is a stand-alone site on the Internet. Third, blogs are posted to the Internet in chronological order. And finally, a blog focuses on a particular area of interest. Think of a blog as being an email that’s available for everyone to read.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Anthony pointed out two important statistics:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Companies that blog get 55% more website visitors than those that don’t<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Companies that blog generate 88% more leads than those that don’t<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Anthony asks clients the same question REVStaffing asks: Do you blog? If the answer is \u201cno,\u201d you need to ask yourself another question: Can you afford NOT to blog?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Remember \u2013 as Anthony pointed out very succinctly \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span>joining<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span> a social network is 10% of your job as you increase your social media presence. Using those social networks (most often by blogging) is the other 90% of the job.
